Previous versions do not color objects. Instead all objects appear in black. Labels are not automatically displayed while making measurements. However the software will label the objects internally. Label the vertices of the objects you want to measure so the measurements are easier to identify.
Selection of segments or circles in previous versions is indicated by two little square marks on them. If one wants to select several objects at the same time, one needs to hold the shift key down.
Previous versions of GSP have the script creation in the Work menu. Once you have constructed a square, select all four vertices and sides. Then click the Work menu. Next click on the Make Script submenu. In this case, the software has recorded a script and provided the givens on the top of the script (Two points A and B are needed). There are three other options: Step, Play and Fast (Figure 36).
Figure 36
Step allows you to repeat the construction step by step. In the case of our square, you need to construct two points (A and B). Select both and once you click on Step, the software will perform only one step more (in this case, it will be to construct segment AB). You need to click Step again to move on to the next step in the construction. This option is particularly useful when you want to stress particular steps in the construction. The Play option goes step by step without you needing to ask for the next step. Both the Step and the Play options highlight the step used in the script. The Fast option constructs a square without showing the intermediate steps. The Rec (record) option and the Stop option (which are not available at this moment) are used to indicate to the software that you want to start recording a script (Rec) and to stop (Stop) the recording. Since it is much easier to construct a geometric object, and then make the script (as opposed to start and stop recording), we will not describe that option. Finally, to save the scrip, close the script window and the software will give you the option of saving it (Figure 37).
Figure 37
If you choose save, it will ask for a name and for the place where you want to store it. Previous versions only allow up to six letters for a name either of a sketch or of a script.
