Money-Saving Options for Your Students
TOP

As the start of the fall term approaches we want to remind you that your students have several options on how to purchase access to your WileyPLUS course. Your students will be unaware of these options prior to making their purchase decision. In previous surveys, many students said that if they had known about these options before buying their book they would have chosen differently. Since we do not have an opportunity to communicate with your students before they register for WileyPLUS, we are asking you to let them know about these options:

Students save 60% when they use the online text contained in WileyPLUS!
As you know, WileyPLUS contains a full online version of the textbook. Many students are choosing not to buy a printed copy of the textbook at all and are instead using the online version. Purchasing access to WileyPLUS via eCommerce will save your students approximately 60% of what they would otherwise pay for a new textbook. Students should be directed to the following URL to buy their WileyPLUS registration code online: http://www.wiley.com/college/buywileyplus.

If your students would like to view the online book before making a decision, please direct them to the WileyPLUS demo for the title you are using. To access the demo, have them go to the main landing page on the Wiley Higher Education website for your textbook (http://www.wiley.com/college/author_last_name), click on "WileyPLUS," and then click on "View Demo." Each demo contains one chapter's worth of content that can be viewed without a registration code.

You might also want to let your students know that approximately 2 weeks after they buy their WileyPLUS registration code online, they will get an email from Wiley with the opportunity to buy the printed copy of their textbook directly from us at 50% off (as long as they do not opt "out" to receive email from Wiley).

If they prefer the printed text, WileyPLUS access is included for no additional cost!
Of course many students still prefer to buy a printed version of the textbook. These students should know that access to WileyPLUS is included for no additional charge when packaged with a new copy of the textbook.

Assignment Zero -- Coming to Your WileyPLUS Course TOP

When we survey students on their experience with WileyPLUS, we often hear that taking time to get familiar with WileyPLUS is a very important first step. With that in mind, we have created a new assignment that is designed to show students all the functional areas of WileyPLUS. It will answer many of their questions about the platform and will also ensure that they know where to find additional help if they need it.

"Assignment Zero: An Introduction to WileyPLUS" is a default assignment that you will find in the first chapter of your WileyPLUS course this fall. We recommend that you assign Assignment Zero as your first homework assignment in your class. It is best used as an ungraded assignment so that student results do not impact their grades. However, as with all ungraded homework, you can still check progress to ensure that your students are taking that opportunity to learn about WileyPLUS.

As with all Wiley-created "default" assignments, Assignment Zero is simple to assign. Go to the "Assignment" section of your course and search for assignments in the first chapter (chapter 0 or exercise 1 in some courses). You should find Assignment Zero listed there. Click on the "assign" link and then select class sections and start/finish dates for the assignment. If you would like more help on assignments please visit our help pages.
