Integrating Peachtree Complete Accounting into Your Accounting Program
Mel Coe, DeVry, Atlanta
Can the integration of automated accounting packages increase student learning/retention? Can use of an automated accounting package improve a student's perception of accounting in the "real world?" Will the use of a professional accounting software package in education aid in the recruitment of majors if they know that some of the "redundant" procedural steps have been automated in the accounting cycle? How do students respond to an automated accounting package? Can an automated accounting package such as Peachtree Complete be used in an online class? This seminar will address these issues and other questions surrounding the use of Peachtree Complete Accounting in accounting classes. The discussion will address the pros and cons of using a basic professional accounting package, such as Peachtree and how it works in conjunction with the Kimmel, Kieso, Weygandt accounting series of textbooks that are published by John Wiley and Sons and supported by the Faculty Resource Network. You will also learn how to effectively implement this resource in your teaching environment. The seminar will include examples and presentations of how professional automated software can be and is incorporated into classes.

EGrade for Accounting

During this presentation, view a demonstration of how eGrade is being used in Managerial Accounting, discuss ways in which eGrade can be used with your course, and learn of future applications of eGrade into accounting courses.
