Description:

This is a briefer paperback edition of the best-selling Psychology in Action, 3/E published in 1994. like the parent text, Essentials is a mid-to-lower level one semester introduction to psychology that promotes active learning, emphasizes psychology as an empirical study of human experience, and is structured around the SQ4R method of learning. It features integrated critical thinking exercises, a focus on psychological applications and the scientific method, and integrated coverage of gender and cultural diversity.

This brief version has 14 chapters (vs. 18 in Psych 3/E), coverage in five chapters has been streamlined and more detailed topics have been left out.
