Registration Resources
AAA Internet Promotions
http://www.websitepromote.com/dls/
These people provide "manual" registration service -- that is, one-at-a-time rather than bulk -- for superior results. At this writing, they charge $110 for 50 sites and $195 for 100 sites. Also available: a newsletter and other assistance.
www.SitePromoter

For about $100, Power Solutions will sell you a software program that combines the convenience of blanket registration with the quality and detail of one-at-a-time registration. We give this software our highest possible recommendation. It's outa' site!
Submit It!
http://www.submit-it.com/
FREE service to register your site with the top 20 (plus or minus) directories and catalogs. A real time-saver!
WebStep 100
http://www.mmgco.com/top100.html
John Audette of Multimedia Marketing Group put together this list of the top 100 directories, indexes and catalogs. The links are all annotated, and you can get to each site's registration page from the link on WebStep.
Steve O'Keefe's Web Site Registration Page
http://www.olympus.net/okeefe/Pubnet/register.html
Registration page used at Steve O'Keefe's Internet Publicity Services. Best feature: help links in case your listing never shows up or needs to be updated or fixed.
PostMaster
http://www.netcreations.com/postmaster/
Rosalind Resnick's resource for registering your web page with hundreds of sites. Provides other marketing services as well.
Announce-It
http://www.netcom.com/~karyntag/web.html
Registration service. In summer of 1996, rates were $49, $89, and $179 for submission to 50, 100 and 200 directories, respectively.
WebPost96
http://www.webpost96.com/
A clever do-it-yourself registration service that helps you register in the top 60 directories for about $50. You can save your registration form and use it to check your listings later.
Launch-it!
http://2com.com/~upfront/launch/
Web promotion service. Top 200 directories for $189 (as of Sept. 96). Also "Cool Sites" news releases and mall links.
did-it.com
http://www.did-it.com/
did-it offers a registration service that includes a monthly status report on your listings and one bulk e-mailing all for $99. It's a sad commentary that we need monthly status reports on registration, but it's truly helpful.
Broadcaster
http://www.broadcaster.co.uk/
Yet another free service to submit your listing to over 200 directories and search engines, with added fee-based services for continued support. This one's in the UK.
Submissions
http://www.submissions.com/
A novel twist to the registration business: you can download free software to run a submit-it style registration service from your own computer.
InfoScavenger
http://www.infoscavenger.com/engine.htm
This site provides an annotated hotlist of resources to help you get your web page to appear at the top of the list when someone uses AltaVista or InfoSeek (etc.) to find you. I like a web site with a nice, specific mission like this.
Insite Web Registration Service
http://www.webpost.net/insite/index.html
Kevin White will register your site in 540 "search engines" for sixty bucks. Sounds like a good deal. Of course, beyond the top 20 sites, it's doubtful you'll generate much traffic. But his price is low enough that it's worth a try.
