Object-Oriented Project Management with UML
Murray R. Cantor
Welcome to the companion Web site for Object-Oriented Project Management
with UML. This site contains materials for managing object-oriented
projects. Here's what you'll find:
This site will be updated on an ongoing basis. Check back here periodically
for updates to the book, more sample files (including those sent to me
by readers), current links, and links to other useful articles and materials.

August 1, 1999 Update
Over the last few months I have received many comments from readers.
In particular, there has been a great deal of interest in the use-case
flow discussion found in Chapter 6. One firm, Blueprint
Technologies, has developed a tool for managing this technique. Based
on the response, it has become clear to me and others that flowdown deserves
more study, in particular, there is a need for standardize terminology
and UML notation. To that end, James Pietrocarlo, a Technical Lead at
Rational Software, and myself have written a white paper, Use Case
Anatomy and Systems of Subsystems, showing how to capture and structure
the use case flowdown in UML. This whitepaper will be made available in
a later update.

November 13, 1998 Update
In this update, I have responded to and added some reader comments. In
particular, there is a discussion of 'uses' and 'extends' for use cases,
a table of use case levels, and a definition of defect level.
November 1, 1998 Update
In this update, I have added a new page containing feedback from the
readers. I will use this page to publish some of the great comments I
have received from readers. Also this page will be used to publish corrections
to errors pointed out by the readers.
A few readers have had trouble with downloading the sample files. I have
added a couple of lines of instructions. I have also added a zip file
containing all of the files. Finally, I have updated the .mpx file using
the new version of Project '98.
September 14, 1998 Update
I have added a new page which contains some useful references that are
not included in the book. Also at the request of some folks at Rational
software, I added some some links to their Rational Unified Process to
the Web Sites page.
