As a supplement to the book, this Web site contains three reference appendices,
linked below. You can either download all the information, or use cut
and paste to retrieve specific items. Save any COBOL programs that you
select as ASCII text files so that you can compile and execute the statements.
Many of the solutions consist of computer programs, along
with their data, ready to download and execute. For class assignments,
the data can be downloaded and supplied to students.
Although the book contains some complete programs, most of
the COBOL code in the text consists of snippets, with the many supporting
COBOL statements omitted for brevity and clarity. This location contains
the complete programs, along with test data, ready to download and execute.
For class assignments, students can be asked to incorporate the snippets
of code into complete programs, and the programs can then be compared
to those in this file. The code supplied with the program to test them
can be downloaded and made available to the students.
