Java, XML, and JAXP
Arthur Griffith
If you understand Java,
this book will get you going with XML. The Java API for
processing XML documents is named JAXP, and this book contains numerous
examples and explanations of how to use JAXP.
Examples
There are many examples in the book. They are all available here so
you can download them.
(To obtain a trial version of WinZip, go to www.winzip.com.)The archives include all of the example Java and XML
source code organized by
the chapters in the book. The files are also available by
anonymous ftp at ftp.belugalake.com/pub.
The archives also include the contents of the
xdox directory that is used in the remote access examples in the book.
If you want to access the xdox
directory remotely from inside your XML,
you can use the URL in the book, which is
www.belugalake.com/xdox, or you can address the one at www.wiley.com/compbooks/griffith/xdox.
Java and XML Links
This list of links are the ones you can use to locate
the primary software tools and documentation needed to work with XML.
Links to Specifications
There are many Web sites on the internet that contain
documentation on some aspect of XML. The following list
contains some of the ones that have been useful to
me in one way or another.
