Headset Microphones
Here are a few recommendations for wired headset microphones to be used for speech recognition. You can choose analog or USB models, with either a single speaker (mono) or dual speakers (stereo).
In terms of wireless headsets, there are few good options, at least until Apple begins supporting Bluetooth audio devices. One (analog, mono) wireless headset that has received good reviews is the Emkay RF-5615, but it is rather pricey.
To use an analog microphone with a USB-only Mac, consider the iMic adapter from Griffin Technology.
Array Microphones
I haven’t used these array mics personally, but having read numerous reviews, they sound like they are equal to or better than headset mics in terms of recognition accuracy, and they have the added benefit of not requiring you to wear anything on your head.
