    About the Editors

    MICHAEL FLICKINGER is a distinguished Professor of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biological Process Technology at the University of Minnesota. Past Director of the Fermentation Program at the National Cancer Institute and the founding Director for the cross-disciplinary Biological Process Technology Institute in Minnesota. Awards include the American Chemical Society's David Perlman Memorial Lecturer Award.

    STEPHEN W. DREW is currently Vice President of Vaccine Technology and Engineering at Merck & Company. In previous positions, he has been responsible for vaccine manufacturing operations, process technology for chemical and biochemical manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and engineering design for chemical manufacturing facilities worldwide. He was also a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
