Wiley Online Library Is One Year Old!
One year on from the launch of Wiley Online Library on August 8, 2010 seems like a good time to review the success of our new platform. After a smooth transition for most libraries and users from Wiley InterScience to Wiley Online Library, we are happy to report that our first year has gone equally well, with the addition of important new functionality and other improvements on a regular basis, as well as positive feedback from users and the industry alike.
Wiley Online Library now boasts over 5 million articles from 1500 journals, over 10,000 online books, and more than 150 reference works, laboratory protocols and databases. There are now just under 4.5 million registered users – an increase of 36% compared with Wiley InterScience. Full text article downloads have increased on average by 47% in the year to end of April 2011 compared to the previous year.
All in all, a first year to celebrate!

In February 2011, Wiley announced a new publishing program of open access journals – Wiley Open Access. The first three titles Brain and Behavior, Ecology and Evolution, and MicrobiologyOpen have now gone live on Wiley Online Library and have been well received in their respective communities. Brain and Behavior and Ecology and Evolution are attracting healthy numbers of submissions and both journals have published articles online. MicrobiologyOpen will begin accepting manuscript submissions later in the Summer 2011.

| Wiley-Blackwell Announces Continued Growth in Impact Factor Journals |
| |
Wiley-Blackwell announced a continued increase in the number and proportion of its journal titles with an impact factor, with 1,087 titles (73%) included in the Thomson ISI® 2010 Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
This is an increase of 7% from the 2009 JCR and includes 58 titles which have received their first impact factor. Anatomical Sciences Education secured a stunning debut as the number 1 ranked journal in Education, Scientific Disciplines. The portfolio includes 317 top ten rankings.

| Learning opportunities from Wiley-Blackwell – September 2011 |

Wiley-Blackwell is pleased to invite you to our free instructor-led online training sessions to learn how to make the most of Wiley Online Library and other products. All you need is an internet connection and, in most cases, access to a telephone.
These sessions are conducted using a product called WebEx that allows you to view live presentations on your computer. For most sessions there will be an associated teleconference so you can hear the presentation and ask questions. Wiley-Blackwell will provide a toll free telephone number to dial in.
To register, click on the title of the session you would like to attend. Book as soon as possible to ensure a place. Sessions are offered each month and a new calendar is sent out towards the end of the previous month.
