Lawrence A. Bottomley


Professor Bottomley obtained his B.S. degree in chemistry from California State University, Fullerton in 1976 and his doctoral degree in analytical chemistry under the tutelage of Karl M. Kadish at the University of Houston in 1980. Before moving to Georgia Tech in 1983, he was on the faculty at Florida State University. In 1986, Professor Bottomley was the recipient of the Georgia Tech Sigma Xi Junior Faculty Award. He was awarded the Georgia Tech Sigma Xi Master's Thesis Faculty Award in 1989 and the Georgia Tech Sigma Xi Doctoral Thesis Faculty Award in 1990. He has held the position of Visiting Professor in the Istituto di Teoria e Struttura Elettronica, at the CNR in Rome, Italy, and currently holds an Adjunct Professorship at Lanzhou University in Lanzhou, P.R. China. He is a member of the Polymer Education and Research Center.
