[5.5] Control Structures
Statements in the program that control the order in which the
instructions are executed.
- Sequence -- two or
more program statements that are
executed in the order in which they appear in a program.
- Selection (If/then/else) -- choose
from two possible
options based on the evaluation of an expression that can be
true or false.
- Iteration (Looping) -- evaluate
a test expression. If
true, execute the programming activity. Continue the loop until
the test expression is false. Applying the test at the top of
the structure produces a DO WHILE loop; testing at the end is called
a DO UNTIL loop.
