Slide 11: Wheatlands in the Buberuka Highlands above 1900 meters to about 2400 meters in elevation. Note the total absence of traditional crops such as beans or bananas. This zone until the late 1940s and early 1950s was not used for permanent agriculture. It is a newly created agricultural zone that was carved out of once native Afro-Montane and bamboo forest.
