Slide 7: Various terms are used for the region under consideration: Midcontinent Prairies, Great Plains and Prairies and so on.  This location map shows the principal subregions, places and ecosystems presented in this case study and the Virtual Tours.  The map locates specifically the region known as The Great Plains, which is used both as an ecological as well as cultural-geographical and historical term.  In addition, many other sites visited in the tour are included such as: the Flint Hills, Sandhills of Nebraska, Edwards and Stockton Plateau, Black Hills, Ouashita Mountains, Palouse Prairie, and Amish Acres, Indiana.
