Hemangiomas and vascular malformations are common place congenital birth marks (i.e. port wine stains) either present at birth or developing during the child's first years of life. In the past, the treatment of these congenital vascular lesions lacked a detailed plan of therapy, partly due to the belief that, given time, they would disappear. This book provides a new classification of the disorder which permits physicians to conduct a more sophisticated diagnosis and to select the most scientific approach of treatment for their removal with minimal blood loss.

"Although the book is relatively short and limited in scope, it reads well and is recommended for clinicians, particularly those who care for patients with vascular lesions." (New England Journal of Medicine, V. 341, Number 20)
" outstanding text on vascular lesions of the head and neck...The book is comprehensive, yet is enjoyable to read because of the precise writing style and excellent color photographs and tables...highly recommended for any physician who treats vascular lesions...a must for otolaryngology residents...I have personally used it to give accurate information..."
