The current 4th edition of Ecology and Management of Forest Soils was published at the end of 2012, and the intervening years have seen substantially improved insights in our understanding of major soil features and processes.
What’s new in the 5th edition?
The authors propose a moderate reorganization of the current edition, removing some of the material that may not be as important as before, and integrating new materials and perspectives. With the passing of Richard Fisher, Mark Adams will join in developing the new edition, providing both worldwide expertise and specialization in the Southern Hemisphere. The overall structure of the book will be retained, but all chapters will be updated, and around one-third of them substantially redeveloped. The 5th edition will be feature full colour photographs and diagrams.
