6190Text correction: Instructions for metric users on Creating a Template
Step 3 should read:
Locate the Bath file you created in the previous chapter. You can also use the file 06-bath.dwg from the sample files. Metric users should use 06-bath-metric.dwg.
3/29/13

6206-7Text correction: Instructions for metric users on Importing Settings
The last sentence of step 4 should read:
Metric users should use the default decimal length type but should select Centimeters in the Insertion Scale drop-down list to ensure that blocks saved using Centermeters as the insert unit will be inserted at the correct scale.
3/29/13

15500Text correction: Assembling Xrefs to Build a Drawing
Step 2. under Assembling Xrefs to Build a Drawing should read as follows:

For Imperial measurement users, use the Drawing Units dialog box (Units↵) to set up the drawing units type to Architectural and the Insertion scale to Inches. Use the Limits command to set the lower-left corner at 0,0 and the upper-right corner at 2112,1632. Metric users should set the drawing units type to Decimal and the Insertion scale to Centimeters. Set the lower-left corner limits to 0,0 and the upper-right corner limits to 5940 cm × 4200 cm. For both measurement systems, click All from the Zoom flyout on the View tab?s Navigate panel or type ZA↵ so your drawing area is adjusted to the window.

15504Text correction: Updating Blocks in Xrefs
Step 3. under Updating Blocks in Xrefs should read as follows

In the Insert dialog box, click the Browse button and then locate and select your Unit.dwg file. If you can't find your Unit.dwg file, you can use 15b-unit.dwg (or 15b-dwg-metric.dwg for metric users) from the Chapter 15 sample files, but make sure you rename the file you use to Unit.dwg before you insert it. You may also use the method described in the Substituting Blocks sidebar in Chapter 7 to insert 15b-unit.dwg or 15b-unit-metric.dwg without renaming the file.
4/23/13

15515Text correction: Filtering Selections
In step 4. under Filtering Selections (at the top of p515) an apostrophe (foot symbol) was omitted from the command. The step should read:

At the Select Objects: prompt, type ′Filter↵ to open the Object Selection Filters dialog box.
4/23/13

271025Text correction: Reference to incorrect figure under "Getting Familiar with Design Center"
Near the bottom of the page, step 1 refers to Figure 27.26. That reference should be to Figure 27.24 on the previous page.

Figure 27.26 on page 1026 shows the contents of the DesignCenter folder, discussed in step 2 on page 1025.
5/23/13

271030Text correction: Errors in Exercise under "Automatically Scaling Blocks at Insertion"
Steps 3 and 4 of the exercise should read:

3. To confirm that DesignCenter did indeed adjust the scale of the Kitchen2-metric block, select the Kitchen2-metric block, right click and select Properties.
4. Check the Unit factor value under the Misc category. Notice the value shows 3/8 . This is the value at which the Kitchen2-metric block has been scaled. If no scaling is applied, this value would be 1.

271034Additional information regarding Support and Hidden Files
Add to the end of the sidebar entitled Locating Support Files the following:
User support files are in a hidden folder. See Finding Hidden Folders That Contain AutoCAD Files in Appendix B for information on how to unhide hidden folders.
5/23/13

271039Text correction: Configure Filtering tool misidentified
The second paragraph on the page should read:

The Configure Filtering tool enables you to filter the contents of the display based on the type of drawing element you want to find. Click the Configure Filtering tool to the right of the Toggle Icon Size tool to open the Configure Filters dialog box (see Figure 27.34). For example, if you want to view only blocks that a content explorer search has turned up, you can select the Object Types tab in the Configure Filters dialog box, then remove the check marks to all of the items in the list except Block Reference. The Content Explorer will display only the blocks. You can also filter by date by selecting the Date tab.

To download a corrected image file for Figure 27.34 showing the correct dialog box, go to the Downloads tab on this page.
