Dr. Franco is board certified in urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He's a member of the Society of Pediatric Urology, the Society of Fetal Urology, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the International Children’s Continence Society and International Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery Society.
He has authored numerous scientific publications, with emphasis in the field of neuro-urology, minimally invasive surgical procedures, pediatric calculus (stone) disease, pediatric laparoscopy, neuro-urology and dysfunctional voiding in children. He has been involved in pediatric urologic laparoscopic surgery since its inception and has taught several courses at national meetings on laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Franco is widely considered as a key international figure in the management of pediatric voiding dysfunctions, with several of his articles resulting in changes in the treatment of voiding dysfunction in children.
He is an editorial reviewer for several peer-reviewed medical journals and has served on the executive committees of several major pediatric urologic societies.
